Meet Hannah

A calling shaped by care, hands, and faith.

My journey into massage therapy didn't begin in a spa—it began in healthcare.

For nine years, I worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in a variety of medical settings. During those years, I cared for people experiencing pain, illness, limited mobility, and other physical challenges. I frequently witnessed people searching for relief through prescriptions and conventional approaches, and those experiences sparked my interest in other ways we can support the body and improve quality of life.

I went on to earn my Bachelor of Science in Integrated Health Science with a Pre-Med focus from Western Carolina University. For a long time, I believed nursing was where I was headed. But as my journey continued, I began to realize that God was leading me somewhere different.

I felt called toward a more hands-on, holistic approach to helping people and ultimately attended Maiden School of Massage, becoming a Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist (LMBT).

Looking back, I can see how the pieces fit together. My years in healthcare gave me an understanding of the human body, compassion for people living with discomfort, and respect for the importance of individualized care. Massage gave me a way to bring those things together through therapeutic touch.

That verse beautifully reflects what this work means to me. My hands have become the tools through which I can serve others—whether someone comes to me seeking relief from muscular tension, a quiet place to rest, or simply an opportunity to feel cared for.

I am deeply committed to continuing education and lifelong learning. Massage therapy is not a one-size-fits-all practice, and I want my knowledge to continue growing alongside Refuah 14. I continually pursue education in massage, bodywork, anatomy, pain science, specialized techniques, and holistic wellness so I can bring thoughtful and informed care to my clients.

Refuah 14 ultimately grew from the realization that the path I originally planned for myself wasn't necessarily the path God had planned for me. What began as a change in career direction became an opportunity to combine my healthcare background, education, Christian faith, and love of helping others into something uniquely my own.

Meet Maya

Science-minded skincare, with a little personality.

I’m Maya Gallego, founder of RBF Aesthetics — Reclaim Your Best Face.

My path into aesthetics began long before esthetics school. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Integrated Health Science from Western Carolina University, which gave me a strong foundation in health and the human body.

I also spent approximately 10 years working in veterinary medicine as a veterinary technician. Caring for others, paying attention to the details, and working hands-on became a major part of my professional life.

Eventually, I decided to take my background in health and my love of helping others in a new direction: professional skincare and aesthetics. I attended the Huntersville Institute of Cosmetic Arts, where I trained in facials, advanced skincare treatments, waxing, sugaring, body treatments, and other esthetic services.

And then there’s the name. I have long been lovingly known for having a little “resting bitch face.” Instead of fighting it, I decided to build a brand around it.

RBF Aesthetics takes that inside joke and turns it into something positive: Reclaim Your Best Face. It’s playful, memorable, and reflects my belief that skincare isn’t about changing who you are. It’s about caring for the skin you’re in and helping you feel confident putting your best face forward.

My approach to aesthetics is personalized and results-focused. I plan to use PCA SKIN professional treatments and skincare, combining professional products with treatment plans tailored to individual skin concerns and goals.

My background in integrated health science, years of hands-on care, and professional esthetics education come together in an approach that values both the science of skin and the experience of taking time for yourself.
