The Meaning Behind Refuah 14
Healing, hands, faith, and restorative care.
Refuah (רְפוּאָה) is a Hebrew word associated with healing, remedy, and restoration. It reflects the heart of Refuah 14 Massage & Bodywork: creating intentional space for rest and restorative care while remaining firmly grounded in Christian faith.

In Hebrew, the word for hand is Yad (יד). Hebrew letters also carry numerical values, a tradition known as gematria. Yod (י) has a value of 10 and Dalet (ד) has a value of 4, giving Yad—the Hebrew word for hand—a numerical value of 14. This connection is especially meaningful to a massage and bodywork practice centered around therapeutic touch and care through the hands.
There is also a remarkable anatomical connection: each human hand contains 14 phalanges, or finger bones. The four fingers contain three each, while the thumb contains two.
The number 14 also carries meaningful biblical symbolism. In Matthew 1:17, the genealogy of Jesus is intentionally arranged into three groups of fourteen generations. The Hebrew name David (דוד) itself has a numerical value of 14, reinforcing the connection between Jesus and the line of David.
Together, the name Refuah 14 represents the intersection of healing, hands, faith, and intentional restorative care. Scripture and biblical principles are woven throughout our services, including biblical service names and accompanying verses. I have been having neck discomfort since November and receiving chiropractic care to help. In late February I also scheduled a massage to compliment my other treatment. After only one session with Hannah I started feeling SO MUCH better! She's working hard to help loosen the tightness in my body and her handcrafted magnesium spray that I took home has been wonderful. I am now on her monthly massage plan to keep my body from reverting back to stiffness and discomfort. I am very grateful to have found Hannah to partner with me in caring for my aging body and keeping it feeling as mobile and comfortable as possible. If you're reading this review, do yourself a favor and go ahead and book with Hannah! She was simply wonderful. I got myself a full pamper package: foot soak, mud wrap and body scrub, then 1 hr massage. After, I had the best night's sleep I'd had in months. She makes the foot soaks herself with various herbs and has many options to choose from. Hannah has such an attention to detail and everything she did told me she is not only beyond passionate about her work, but she is darn excellent at it. I felt like a princess and can't wait for my next apmt!

Refuah 14 is an appointment-only practice. Each appointment is reserved specifically for you, and completing required forms before your visit helps us provide personalized, prepared care.
Intake & Consent Forms
Required forms are sent directly through Vagaro based on the client and service booked.
Forms may include: General Intake • Liability/Waiver • Pregnancy Consent • Minor Consent
Please complete all required forms before your appointment. Forms do not need to be downloaded from the Refuah 14 website.
Prenatal Massage
Blessed Beginnings is available during the second and third trimesters. Required pregnancy forms are provided through Vagaro.
Cancellation & Rescheduling
Please provide at least 24 hours' notice when canceling or rescheduling.
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice may be charged 50% of the scheduled service fee. This helps protect appointment time reserved specifically for each client.
Late Arrivals
Late arrival may result in a shortened session to avoid delaying the next scheduled appointment.
